They say that a man who knows everything 1) learns nothing OR 2) has the last name Hamner… and 1 probably still applies to 2. Maybe. We can’t be sure. What we can be sure of is that we at Franklin Retirement Solutions have always been a big proponent of education.
All of the advisors here, myself included, are keenly aware of how little the average student is taught about financial management, and how no one was given any real information on how to plan for and manage their retirement. Helping others is why we got into this in the first place, and it’s why we have been so involved in education over the years. For instance, Peter & Jeremy’s book “Solving The Retirement Puzzle” provides a broad overview of retirement planning concepts, has been in circulation since 2012, and gets updated every year.
More importantly, our advisors have been involved with several non-profit organizations that provide retirement planning education nationwide, which may be how you first found us. These are two-night classes at Delaware Valley University, Manor College, Arcadia University, or Holy Family University where we take deep dives into retirement planning topics across six hours. It’s a marathon, and it’s a time commitment that’s difficult to recommend to friends or neighbors who could otherwise use the info.
If that’s the case, you’ll be happy to know we recently began working with another agency—Retirement Wealth Academy—who offers a more compact education. One day for three hours. It’s a mix of high-level discussion and deep dives when needed, and we can host it wherever we want—saving everyone from wandering around twisting, tricky college campuses.
Luckily, working with us means you already have this education, and you know what you’re doing. However… if you have a friend or neighbor who might benefit from a relatively short, informative lesson on retirement planning concepts, share this link with them. We’d love to see them!
