It doesn’t matter what day you visit us at the office; you know it’s going to be a happy day if Dave is at the front desk to greet you. If it’s going to rain, it’s Happy Liquid Sunshine Wednesday. Thursdays used to be Happy Friday Eve until Jeremy put a stop to that because it would confuse him about what day it actually was. Oh well!
Franklin Retirement is blessed with great clients and a terrific staff, but the star of the show is often Dave. Monday, we will celebrate Dave’s 5th Workaversary, having joined the team in 2021. You know he bakes the chocolate chip cookies several times a day and makes sure the roses are all set to go. And after 5 years, Dave knows what goodies you like and makes sure your little black snack bag is filled before you leave.
Since the markets haven’t been too great, I thought I’d not discuss them and instead share with you what a great job Dave does for the team and our clients. We never run out of candy, snacks, chips, or cookies because of Dave, who also handles our office and janitorial supplies. And three days a week, Dave handles all the lunch orders, goes out to pick up lunch for the staff, and then gets everything set up so we can all enjoy lunch together.
Last but not least, Dave makes sure each conference room is clean and that all the right screens are up on the TVs when you sit down for your Forward Focus Meeting. We are lucky to have Dave on our team, but truly, I feel the same way about all 13 of the other folks on staff at FRS.
Now to the markets. Overall, the markets have done okay in July and August, unless you had a lot of money in semiconductor stocks. However, Nvidia (NVDA) reported good earnings after Wednesday’s market close, so yesterday, many of the chip stocks rebounded. Too early to call this a rally. Stay tuned.
With the midterm elections two months away, it could be a rocky time in the markets. Let’s hope not as we roll into September.
Enjoy the weekend (but I keep thinking this should be Labor Day Weekend)…
