Ever since a certain presidential candidate ran a successful campaign on the words “Change” and “Hope”, there sure seems to be a lot of change. Truth be told, change probably already existed here and there before the candidate used the term, but… we can’t be sure.
What I can be sure of is that we have seen a lot of change. Personally, camping season is in full swing for my family and at our last stop, my daughter did what teenagers do: she met a boy. We’ve all had vacation crushes come and go, but this was her first and, as it turns out, this kid could be our neighbor. We traveled an hour and a half away and buried ourselves deep in the backwoods of Pennsylvania just so our daughter could meet a boy who lives three blocks over from us. Amazing.
Professionally, we’ve had some changes in the office. For one, Jeremy is now a SmartVestor Pro. A SmartVestor Pro is a special certification that requires vetting and training by Dave Ramey’s Ramsey Solutions. Say what you want about Dave Ramsey—terrible choice in college football fandom, stringent debt relief recommendations, inflated expectations when it comes to market performance, etc.—but the man is responsible for a heightened financial literacy for a lot of folks who were otherwise reluctant or unable to save and plan for their financial future. His training curriculum for advisors has been insightful, and interesting to say the least. If you know someone who has gone through Dave Ramsey’s Seven Baby Steps and is looking to cement their savings and investment plans going forward, you can send them Jeremy’s way and know they’ll receive the level of care you’ve come to expect from us AND the level of understanding that comes from someone fluent in Dave Ramsey’s system.
Secondly, we have a new zip code!
We’re not moving offices again—I’m pretty sure we’re still recovering from the last move and that was two years ago!—but we have expanded. Want to guess which way? Did we move back to Willow Grove? Did we establish a footprint near the major highway intersections in Bensalem or King of Prussia? Did we attempt to take over another state and plant a flag in Jersey? Nope.
At the start of this month, we settled into a modest but comfortable space in… the Lehigh Valley. It’s a comfortable space with modern touches in Center Valley, PA. The complex sits across the street from a former golf course that is now… not… a golf course. There’s a hospital there now, if you’re wondering where priorities lie in the Lehigh Valley. And in what is surely a positive omen, the day we signed the lease, a car drove through a plate glass window at the shopping center down the street.
Finally, in what is likely the most useful news to everyone, we are working with Google and Apple to change how they steer people to our office. For so many of you, your phone GPS drops you off at a random entrance in a gigantic parking lot vaguely near our building. It has caused a lot of circling of our office buildings and just as many headaches. The easiest way to get to us is to come up Witmer and make a left at the big crosswalk. Three stop signs along a single road and you’re at our front door. We know that’s the best way, and most of you know that’s the best way. Hopefully, we’ll get Apple and Google to agree that it’s the best way.
If not, we’ll get a trophy and give it to whomever makes the most laps around our building before they find the entrance.
