We’ve all heard the stories about angry customers. A man so angry about the quality of his car that he sneaks into the dealership overnight and leaves a lemon on every windshield. Or a group of people leaving hundreds and thousands of negative reviews on a website because they disagree with a choice made by the company. Or someone simply snapping and putting their car into a business’ front window. That last one happens a lot, actually. Google has over 29 million results for “intentionally crashing car through window”.
It’s not hard to tell when someone’s done something wrong.
It’s a lot harder, however, to know when someone’s doing something right. Nobody’s driving onto car lots to leave big hearts on all the cars, and positive reviews on websites are a lot harder to come by. At Franklin Retirement Solutions, however, we are lucky. We know when our clients think we’re doing things right! Some bring in pretzels, cookies, or doughnuts when they stop in. Plenty of others send lovely and heartfelt letters and cards, which we frame and keep in our offices. Some folks bring their friends. Those are our Ambassadors.
That’s a very formal word—ambassador. What does it mean in our context? A Franklin Retirement Solutions Ambassador is someone who tells someone else—a friend, a coworker, a family member— about the work we do as retirement & income planners and then helps that person start working with us on their own retirement & income plan. Once we have welcomed that new person into the FRS fold, we make it a point to thank the Ambassador who sent them our way. Maybe with a nice dinner out. Maybe with a new handbag. Maybe with a new putter. But a proper thank you nonetheless.
Since we created the Ambassador program, we have had the opportunity to thank new Ambassadors every month. It allows everyone involved to show how happy they are with the work of the others, and we have enjoyed thanking every Ambassador who has joined the ranks this past year. It’s a sign we’re doing things right!
